Privacy Policy
Last updated: 16 September 2026
This policy explains what KinTask collects, why it collects it, and the control you have over your information.
Information we collect
- Account details from your Google sign-in: your name, email address and profile picture.
- Content you create: tasks, deadlines, notes, categories, household names, invite codes, reactions and completion history.
- Preferences: language, appearance (light or dark) and wording preferences.
- Technical data needed to run the service: request logs and error reports, kept only as long as needed to keep KinTask working.
How we use your information
- To show your tasks, rank them by urgency and share the chores you choose to share with your household.
- To mirror deadlines to your Google Calendar when you connect it, including the reminders that come with each entry.
- To keep accounts secure and to diagnose faults.
- We do not sell your information and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.
Google Calendar access
- Calendar access is optional and only starts after you press Connect Google and approve Google's consent screen.
- KinTask uses that access only to create, update and remove the calendar entries that match your own tasks.
- You can disconnect at any time from Settings, or revoke access from your Google account permissions page. Disconnecting stops all future syncing.
Sharing with others
- Members of a household you join can see the tasks you share with that household, who completed them and when.
- Tasks you keep private are visible only to you.
- Service providers that host the database, authentication and hosting infrastructure process data on our behalf under contract, and Google processes calendar data when you connect it.
Cookies and local storage
- KinTask stores a sign-in session and your language, appearance and wording preferences on your device.
- There are no advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
Retention
- Tasks and household data are kept while your account exists.
- The household activity feed keeps completed-chore entries for seven days and then removes them.
- Deleting your account removes your profile, your tasks and your reactions from our database.
Your rights
- You can access and correct your details in Settings, disconnect Google access, and delete your account and its data from the account page.
- Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to a copy of your data, to object to processing, or to complain to a supervisory authority.
- To exercise any of these, write to support@kintask.app.
Children
- KinTask is intended for adults managing a household. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes and contact
- If this policy changes materially we will update this page and the date above.
- Questions about privacy: support@kintask.app.
